Y3 Curriculum

The curriculum at Carterknowle is well sequenced so that children are able to revisit knowledge gained in previous years, and build upon this throughout year 3. 

We plan lessons to be enjoyable, as well as current and relevant. In year 3, we hope to inspire children and help them to develop a sense of awe and wonder in the world around them. We also focus on citizenship and encourage the children to reflect on their place in the community and help them to become responsible citizens. Work in history, geography, RE and science are also brought to life for the children through exciting enrichment opportunities, such as visiting: a mining museum, the local mosque, Weston Park Museum and Chatsworth House and Gardens.  As well as going on trips, we have experts come into school to share their expertise with us.
